Composition
Parvovirus suis inact. ≥ 4 log2 *)
Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae inact. RP ≥ 1 in 2 ml vaccination dose **)
(3 strains of type 2, 1 strain of type 1)
*) Titre of HI antibodies in serum of guinea pigs after administration of ¼ volume of vaccination dose.
**) Relative potency (RP) is determined by comparison with reference preparation conforming to challenge test on target animals according to requirements of Ph. Eur. monograph, as amended.
Indication
For the active immunization of pigs against parvovirosis and swine erysipelas.
After primary vaccination, the titres of haemagglutination-inhibition antibodies against parvovirus show the increase. Their maximum level is detected on the 35th day, and the antibodies mentioned are protective for a period of 6 months.
Immunity against swine erysipelas is developed fully 21 days after vaccination and lasts for 6 months.
Dosage, application and vaccination scheme
Vaccination dose: always 2 ml, intramuscularly.
Gilts and sows: primary vaccination: one vaccination dose 2 – 4 weeks before mating. Further revaccinations: always one vaccination dose 2 – 4 weeks before mating.
Boars: Primary vaccination: one vaccination dose not later than 2 weeks before mating. Animals shall be revaccinated every 6 months with one vaccination dose in order to keep their immunity.
