Target species

Dogs and cats.

Indication

Dogs:

Suppression of inflammatory process and pain associated with acute and chronic involvement of musculoskeletal system. Alleviation of pain after orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries.

Cats:

To alleviate post-surgical pain after ovariohysterectomia or after minor soft tissue surgery.

Route of administration and dosage

Dogs:

Subcutaneously administration in indications of musculoskeletal system involvement. Subcutaneously or intravenously in indications for post-operative pain relief (for 24 hours).

a) In post operation of musculoskeletal system: single dose of 0.2 ml/kg body weight which is equivalent to 0.4 ml/kg body weight.

MELOXICAM Bioveta 1.5 mg/ml oral suspension at a dose of 0.1 mg meloxicam/kg body weight can be used to continue the treatment 24 hours after injection.

b) To alleviate post-surgical pain for 24 hours – administer Melexicam 5 mg/kg IV or IM (single dose of 0.2 ml/kg body weight which is equivalent to 0.4 ml/kg body weight).

Apply before the operation eg. during anaesthesia.

Single dose of 0.3 ml/kg body weight which is equivalent to 0.6 ml/kg body weight.

Cats:

Subcutaneously administration.

A single dose of 0.3 mg meloxicam / kg bw. weight, which corresponds to a solution dose of 0.06 ml / kg bw. hm. Administer before surgery, for example at the time of induction of anesthesia.
