Pharmaceutical form

Injection solution.

Clear, almost colourless solution.

Composition

Cloprostenolum 250 µg (as Cloprostenolum natricum).

Indication

Estrus synchronization and induction in heifers, cows and mares. Delivery induction in sows.

Cattle: Functional ovary disorders, postpartum and post-service anestrus (silent estrus, irregular and anovular cycle, persistent corpus luteum, luteal cyst). Postpuerperal uterus disorder, endometritis, pyometra. Interruption of both the normal and pathological pregnancy (during the first trimester). Follicular cyst combined therapy (since 10th day after HCG or LHRH application, after the positive ovary response was observed).

Mares: Anestrus (silent estrus, persistent diestrus, embryonic necrosis, lactation anestrus, end of pseudopregnancy). Interruption of both the normal and pathological pregnancy (in the first half of gravidity).

Target animals

Cows, heifers, mares, sows.

Dosage and application

Administration route: Intramuscularly.

Cattle:

- estrus synchronization 

Apply 2 ml of the preparation (0.50 mg of the active substance) twice in the interval of 10 days. The first dose of the preparation can be applied in any phase of a sexual cycle (40 - 60 days after the delivery in cows). The second dose should be applied on the 11th day after the first application; insemination and re-insemination should be performed on the 14th day (i.e. 72 - 76 hours after the second application) and the 15th day, respectively (irrespective to the external estrus symptoms). Genitals shall be examined before each application of the preparation intended for synchronization induction in cattle. The physiological condition of genitals, both the body and sexual maturity in heifers are the prerequisites for inclusion of animals into the group.

- functional ovary disorders

Apply 2 ml of the preparation; insemination shall be performed after the first estrus. Should not estrus onset been observed, apply 2 ml of the preparation repeatedly on the 11th day after the first application; insemination or possible re-insemination shall be performed 72 - 76 hours later. Therapy of follicular cyst: Apply 2 ml of the preparation in a single dose, not early than on the 10th day after HCG or LHRH application after the positive ovary response was observed. Estrus will appear on the 3rd day after the application of the preparation ESTRON 250 µg/ml solution for injection.

- postpuerperal uterus disorder 

Apply 2 ml of the preparation; if necessary, the therapy can be accompanied with the intrauterine application of foamy preparations or with possible wash-out (simultaneously with the application is the best way). The application should be repeated on the 11th day; insemination and re-insemination shall be performed on the 14th and 15th day, respectively.

- pregnancy interruption 

Apply 2 ml of the preparation (further treatment should be performed in compliance with the clinical condition).

Sows: Apply the single dose of 0.7 ml of the preparation (0.175 mg of the active substance) since the 111th pregnancy day. Most of the induced deliveries appear within 40 hours after the application with their peak between the 24th and 35th hour.

Mares: Apply the single dose of 1 ml of the preparation (0.25 mg of the active substance). Apply it at the period from the 5th to 13th day after estrus in cycling mares. The best period for their putting is the 4th to 6th day after the application.

Storage

Store below 25 °C.

Protect from frost.

Keep the injection vial in the carton in order to protect from light. 

Withdrawal period

Meat - 1 day.

Milk – without any protective period.

Shelf life

Shelf life of veterinary medicinal product in intact package: 1 year.

Shelf life after the first opening: 7 days.
