Composition

Colistin sulfate                                1,200,000 IU

Indication

Treatment and metaphylaxis of gastrointestinal infections caused by non-invasive colistin-sensitive E. coli in calves, piglets and broiler chickens.

Prior to metaphylaxis, the presence of disease in the herd/flock should be determined.

Target animals

Pigs (piglets), cattle (calves), chickens (broilers).

Dosage and application

Oral administration in drinking water.

Recommended dose: 2.5-4 mg of colistin sulfate/kg bw daily, i.e. 5-8 g of the product/100 kg bw.

Calves, piglets: 5-8 g of the product/100 kg of body weight daily (in two doses) for 3 days.

Chicken broilers: 5-8 g of the product/10 l of drinking water for 3 days.

 

Prepare a fresh solution every day.

The duration of treatment should be limited to a minimum time required to cure the disease.

To ensure administration of a correct dosage, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible.

Treatment should be supplemented with proper breeding and zoohygienic procedures to reduce the risk of infection and control the development of resistance.

Storage

Store below 25°C.

Store in a dry place.

Withdrawal period

Meat of calves, piglets and chicken broilers: 2 days.

Do not use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.

Shelf life

Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 3 years.

Shelf life after dissolution according to directions: 24 hours.

100 g, 0.5 kg, 3 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 15 kg, 25 kg.
