* HI antibodies titre in guinea-pig serum after ¼ of vaccination dose application. The antibodies in titre 16 and more must be proved in 4 from 5 guinea-pigs.
** geometrical average of specific antibodies titres determined by agglutination-lytic reaction (ALR) after rabbits vaccination with batch with minimum antigen content
Indication
For active immunisation of sows and gilts to protection against transplacental infection of parvovirosis and leptospirosis. For active immunization of boars to reduce the possibility of risk spread of parvovirosis and leptospirosis. This immunisation procedure ensures protection of embryos and foetuses in gilts and sows against parvovirosis and leptospirosis and decrease the risk of transmitting parvovirus and leptospira from boars.
Sows and gilts:
Onset of immunity: Porcine parvovirus: from beginning of the pregnancy. Leptospira: from beginning of the pregnancy, maximal level of postvaccination antibodies is found at 28. day after primovaccination.
Duration of immunity: Porcine parvovirus: the vaccination guarantees a protection of fetuses during the whole pregnancy period. Leptospira: the antibody level protected the animals during the challenge test was proved for at least 77 days. The high antibody levels persist during the whole pregnancy till time of following mating.
Boars:
Onset of immunity: 28 days after primovaccination.
Duration of immunity: the antibody level protected the animals during the challenge test was proved for at least 105 days for parvovirus and at least 77 days for leptospira antigens. The high antibody levels persist till 4 months after primary vaccination.
Dosage, application and vaccination scheme
2 ml, intramuscularly (preferably to paraauricular region).
Sows and gilts:
Primovaccination - 2 vaccination doses.
The application of first dose 5 – 6 weeks prior to mating, application of the second dose so that it is carried out 2 – 3 weeks prior to mating.
Further regular revaccinations are always with one vaccination dose 2 – 3 weeks prior to mating.
Boars:
Primovaccination - 2 vaccination doses.
The application of first dose 7 weeks prior to first mating or ejaculate collection, application of the second dose after 3 weeks, so that it is carried out 4 weeks prior to first mating or inclusion of the boar to artificial insemination.
The high antibody levels persist to 4 months after primary vaccination. To maintain the highest level of protection, revaccination is recommended with a single vaccination dose every 4 months.
