Composition
Virus febris catarrhalis ovium inactivatum, serotype 8 at least 107,0 TCID50*
*TCID50 – 50% infectious dose for tissue culture.
Indication
Intended for active immunisation of cattle and sheep against BTV-8 from one month of age to reduce viremia and clinical symptoms of the disease.
Onset of immunity: immunity is fully developed 21 days after the basic vaccination.
Duration of immunity: 12 months after the basic vaccination.
Dosage, application and vaccination scheme
Dosage – 1 ml from one month of age.
Method of administration – subcutaneously, best to the area behind the shoulder blade.
Heat the vaccine before use to a temperature of 15–25 °C and shake the content of the vial.
Basic vaccination of cattle:
1st injection: calves from the age of 1 month (or from the age of 3 months of the young ones from vaccinated mothers).
2nd injection: 3 weeks later.
Revaccination: Annual revaccination with a single dose (1ml) 2 weeks prior to the risky period.
Basic vaccination of sheep:
1st injection: sheep from the age of 1 month (or from the age of 2.5 months of the young ones from the vaccinated mothers).
Revaccination: Annual revaccination with a single dose (1 ml) 2 weeks prior to the risky period.
Storage
Keep in the refrigerator (2°C–8°C).
Withdrawal period
No withdrawal periods.
Shelf life
Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product in an intact package: 18 months.
Shelf life after the first opening of the immediate packaging: 10 hours.
