30.10.2024
From this very day, i.e. 30 October 2024, the whole territory of the Czech Republic has been included in the bluetongue zone (BT)
Since this date, the Czech Republic has officially lost its status of the BT-free Member State. New nationwide emergency veterinary measures (EVM) will be valid throughout the Czech Republic.
Relocation of animals within the Czech Republic
- Relocation of BT-susceptible animals will not be restricted, except for movements from the disease outbreaks.
- EVM for individual outbreaks remains unchanged.
- Conditions for vaccination of the animals against 3 BT serotype are included in the national EVM and are still applied.
Moving animals to other EU Member States.
- Relocation will be governed by the applicable EU legislation.
- The BioBos BTV 3 vaccine from Bioveta, intended for sheep and cattle, has already been registered in the Czech Republic. With the new EVMs in force, it will be possible to confirm the health guarantee when moving the animals to the Member States where vaccination is recognized.
